Dominique Perrault

Dominique Perrault, architect of the much heralded French National Library, has used various GKD metal fabrics to great advantage. For example, in one instance he suspended flexible Sambesi from the ceiling to create a wave-like effect. In another he used Omega for panels to screen out the sun. In some instances Perrault handled the material as though it were truly fabric, allowing it to drape and cascade. And in yet another instance, he relied on its rigid properties to serve more traditional architectural purposes.
