Woven-in bar with spring
This system was developed for exterior façades and parking structures where tension loads require careful consideration. Round bars are inserted into the fabric in place of weft wires at the top, bottom and intermediate locations.
The top round bar is cradled into triangular brackets. The metal fabric is essentially "hung" at the top and rolled down. Any intermediate round bars are connected to pivoting brackets, allowing for normal vertical movement while maintaining a stable stand off distance from the building.
Springs attach to the bottom bar to apply a proper and stable tension to the fabric. This will remove variable tension forces on the structure under changing conditions. Eyebolts are attached to the springs to allow for simple adjustability.
