This residential apartment building features a dramatic use of GKD’s Sambesi fabric. A circular staircase is constructed around an open elevator shaft. Sambesi encloses the shaft, hugging the inside opening of the staircase. Like elevators a century ago, the occupants can see out through the fabric while ascending and descending. As a material, the natural beauty of the stainless steel fabric is particularly distinctive in this setting of natural wood and raw concrete.
