A vacant office building in Stuttgart, Germany was recently purchased, refurbished and modernized for use by the Baden-Württemberg state ministries. To ensure optimal room acoustics and a contemporary, attractive aesthetic for the top floor conference center, the architects opted for a gold-anodized acoustic ceiling made of aluminum mesh. Manufactured by GKD, the ceilings are a spectacular and one-of-a-kind addition to the space.

Visionary Architect Dominique Perrault, Discoverer of Metal Mesh for A&D Applications, Bestowed Noble Honor in France

At a special ceremony held in Paris, Dominique Perrault took his place among the eight lifetime members of the Académie des Beaux-Arts. The visionary architect and city planner was presented with an honorary sword during the event, one of the honorable office's insignias. Historically crafted by a goldsmith, he requested that his sword be made of stainless steel and produced by longtime partner GKD. Perrault, who is credited with discovering metal mesh for A&D applications, has used the innovative material as a signature element in his buildings for more than 20 years.
