GKD Helps Children In Need By Donating Toys For Annual Toy Drive

For the seventh year in a row, GKD has partnered with the Rescue Fire Company of Cambridge, Maryland for their Annual Toy Drive. This year, the fourteen children chosen include seven boys and seven girls ranging in age from toddler to 14. The gifts, some specific some generic, are donated by GKD employees and placed under the company Christmas tree until the Cambridge Volunteer Fire Company collects them. Santa riding on the fire truck then delivers the presents to the local children.

The Oval Cricket Ground – also known as The Oval or Kia Oval – is one of the world's best-known cricket stadiums. Since it was built in the London suburb of Kennington in 1858 it has experienced numerous refurbishments and extensions. When choosing a façade material for the latest extensions, Rolfe Judd Architects, from London, chose around 5,600 square feet of the innovative Tigris Twist metal mesh from GKD.

The architects at WTL Design, with the help of BMW Building Design Senior Manager, Nicholas Ott, designed the BMW Brand Experience Center in Shanghai using a minimalistic approach. The project marks the first use of GKD’s Mediamesh technology in China. The stunning glass and white design evokes transparency, both in the building itself and the brand’s identity. The 21,500 square foot building utilizes interior Mediamesh screens that are visible from the outside, thanks again to the transparent glass façade.

In Metz, France, a historic city known for its culture, green landscapes, and architecture, a shimmering rectangular-shaped building rises from a sloping landscape. The building designed by KL Architects is known as the Chamber of Crafts. The textile skin made of GKD Lago stainless steel mesh plays a central role in the building’s eligibility for sustainable recognition according to specifications from the French low-energy building label, Batiment Basse Consommation (BBC).
