Ohel Jakob Synagogue

The dominant design element of the synagogue is the cladding of the glass cube, outfitted with a specially GKD manufactured bronze spiral mesh. These mesh spirals were broadened forming equilateral triangles so that when the sun hits the bronze spiral mesh veil, the building is enveloped in a warm glow.

Sixty-two golden fabric panels in 10 different sizes transform the ceiling of this trading hall into sculptural art. Targeted lighting accentuates the 3D effect of the shimmering spiral mesh. Daylight from large, semicircular windows illuminates the room and adds a warm golden tone to the hall.
