University of California San Francisco – Cardiovascular Research Building

Designed to allow the flow of natural light throughout this research and educational facility, SmithGroup architects also needed to mitigate the sun’s intensity. They identified the transparent benefits of metal mesh as the perfect sunshading option, installing 216 panels of GKD Lamelle metal fabric.
